Help Your Dog Succeed in Real Life
Suisse Adventures uses a 3 step path to help large working dogs, high-energy dogs, adolescent dogs, and dogs with behavior challenges one-on-one, to build better focus, confidence, communication, and trust.
3 EZ Steps
Evaluation
1
We assess your dog, the Human Partner, the home environment, daily routines, behavior patterns, and relationship so we can understand what is really happening.
Plan
2
We build a clear, practical plan for both dog and Human Partner, focused on communication, structure, confidence, enrichment, and real-world progress.
Adventures
3
We put the plan into action through structured real-world training, movement, exposure, enrichment, and shared experiences that help the relationship grow.
Real-World Experience
Suisse’s training did not happen in a classroom alone.
It happened on roads, in malls, at airports, on trails, in changing weather, and in everyday life. Last year, Suisse and I hiked more than 3,000 miles together.
Those miles became more than exercise. They became a foundation for training, bonding, problem-solving, and learning how to work together and communicate clearly in the real world
The Adventure
Over time, our training expanded beyond hiking into adventure-based activities such as mountain biking, bikejoring, road cycling, winter mushing, summer mushing, kayaking, and backpacking.
These activities gave Suisse structure, purpose, confidence, and healthy outlets for his energy. When appropriate, many of these same activities can be introduced to other dogs as part of a thoughtful training and enrichment plan. At Suisse Adventures, we believe training should be part of real life. Dogs learn best when they are guided with patience, consistency, and purpose in the places where they actually live, walk, play, and explore.
Effective Enrichment Makes a Difference
Canine Enrichment by Dr. Melanie Uhde
Dr. Melanie Uhde, drawing from 686 studies, reveals that effective canine enrichment requires more than just toys. It hinges on the duration and intensity of activities, the introduction of variety and novelty to maintain engagement, and crucially, the dog's active participation and choice, fostering autonomy and well-being.
“Effective canine enrichment goes beyond simply providing toys and necessitates a deep understanding of a dog's needs and motivations.”

Successful training is never just about the dog. Dogs are often ready to learn when the message is clear, consistent, and fair. The real challenge is often helping the human partner learn how to communicate, respond, set expectations, and follow through in a way the dog can understand. That is why some of the most important sessions at Suisse Adventures are the ones where we teach owners how to guide, enrich, and support their own dogs.
